Commercial Lines Account Manager/Bookkeeper

O.M. Hughes Insurance is a family-owned insurance agency located near Homewood and Mountain Brook. We are seeking a commercial lines account manager/bookkeeper for our agency. This position includes preparing quotes, processing policies and endorsements, providing service to insurance clients such as processing change requests and providing requested documents. This position also includes some daily bookkeeping tasks, month-end bookkeeping procedures, and year-end procedures. Responsibilities include invoicing agency-billed policies, direct-bill commission deposits, deposits from customers, paying vendor invoices and insurance company invoices, monthly journal entries, and reconciliations. Insurance industry experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be very personable and have the following skills and experience: commercial insurance service, bookkeeping, effectively and efficiently use Microsoft Word and Outlook, Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
